Happy Turkey Day

Modesto Sukiyaki is feeling very thankful this Thanksgiving.

We are thankful for our customers….

We are thankful for our family….

…. and we are thankful for great meals!

We will be CLOSED this Thanksgiving.  We hope you share a wonderful meal with those you love.

Our fluffy steamed rice is made on a gas burning stove in an Okama- a traditional rice cooking pot with a heavy bottom.  It is always fresh because we only make one small batch at a time.  When making Japanese rice at home select short grain rice.  Here at Modesto Sukiyaki we use Uruchimai – a Japanese variety.

Find out more on how to cook rice here.

Daikon Oroshi looks like snow, but it is actually ground Japanese radish.

As the summer heats up, we can cool you down. Modesto Sukiyaki is serving up colder dishes to refresh your body and spirit. Try our Beef or Chicken Tataki. Fresh grilled meats in a cool Ponzu lemon soy, topped with cold ground Daikon radish and minced green onion. We also have seasonal specials, available for only a limited time, like Hiyayako-cold tofu or Hiyashi Chuka-chilled noodles topped with fresh veggies, or Cold Soba noodles.

Memorial Day

May 26, 2011

We are truly happy to see all of our customers at the restaurant and now we can stay in touch with you on-line too.
