As 2012 comes to a close, it’s time to reflect on the year past. Thanks to social media and positive online reviews, we have met many new customers that we welcome into the Modesto Sukiyaki family. We faced economic strains and rising food costs but with hard work and the dedication of our customers we were able to end the year on a high note. We welcome the New Year with open arms and a positive outlook. For 2013 we hope for a stronger economy and wish for the wellness of our family and cherished customers.
We will be CLOSED Jan 1st. We will be OPEN Jan 2nd for dinner only. We look forward to serving you in the new year.

We recently had a group of Japanese customers come in and they made a simple statement “this tastes exactly like Japan”. Looking past the fact that you cannot actually taste a country, we understood what he meant, it is a taste that is familiar to me, it tastes like home. The pride that swells when hearing Japanese natives say that the prepared food is as it should taste is something that is hard to express. It reaffirms that the time spent on finding fresh ingredients and the effort it takes to prepare dishes are appreciated. This is truly the biggest compliment of all.
